Are you a brand owner or your job is to manage brands?

Well, congratulations! That means you are a leader! Now what do I mean by that? You don’t have to be a politician to be a leader.

There are lot of similarities between a leader and a brand. So, what do I mean by that?

Leaders have followers. Brands have followers. You see, both engage people and they both create what we call a ‘tribe.’

So you see, brands owners, brand managers, brand custodians; as a leader let me ask you this one question;

Do you know why your followers follow you? Do you think people follow you because they want to help you increase your profit or create values to your shareholders?

I don’t think so.

The questions is, why then people follow you? What has been the story that you have been communicating to people and is this story compelling enough or meaningful enough to keep them following you in the future?

And I see this is as an opportunity for us as brand managers or brand owners to latch our brand story to something super profound, more meaningful, other than just a functional deliverable of our product.

What is it that we can create in this with our brand story to encourage everyone towards becoming more positive or to create a better world? .

Think about it!

Idea step:

  1. Know your brand story
  2. Communicate to people
  3. Meaningful enough to gain loyalty
